Oliver Walters (Media) Ltd donates roundabouts to local Foodbank

In unprecedented times, some things are more important so Oliver Walters (Media) Ltd has donated most of its space locally on two key roundabouts for the next couple of months to help raise awareness for the Stowmarket & Area Foodbank and help promote its new App that has just launched.  It was launched in October 2012 to provide individuals and families from Stowmarket and the surrounding areas who are in crisis with emergency food parcels. It has been an extremely busy time with demand increasing year on year, but no one could have predicted the current crisis and its devastating effects. Before the pandemic hit, they were supporting an average of 60 families per month. That has now increased to around 160! “It’s great that OWL has kindly put these reminders in place. People often want to support the foodbank as they know the work we do to help families and individuals in crisis is vital, especially during this current situation, but forget, so a little prompt will encourage people to give; helping local people in trouble when they can.”  Mike Smith – Foodbank manager

Stowmarket Foodbank works with local organisations to identify individuals and families who can benefit from their services. If you are local and need help, would like to volunteer, or would just like to speak to them, call them on 01449 774000. They’ll be delighted to hear from you. The App is available to download at the App store & Google play. It lists all their “urgent needs” for the week so you can add them to your shopping list before you go. It also offers further information on the foodbank itself and other ways you can help.

"GIVE HIV THE FINGER"

OWL is delighted to have succesfully delivered much of the outdoor media print for Terrence Higgins Trust for their latest campaign GIVE HIV THE FINGER, part of National HIV Testing Week. Caroline Barker, Head of Marketing at Terrence Higgins Trust said "I have known and worked with Ollie for many years... so when I saw he had started up his own business it was fairly obvious we should at least talk! Having met up it became clear that he could immediately save the Terrence Higgins Trust money, which as a charity is essential at every opportunity. We commissioned OWL to print nearly all our outdoor posters... The process was very easy from start to finish and the posters look better than ever. We are delighted with what OWL has done for us and would recommend him to other organisations. We will definitely be working with him again" Thanks Caroline for those very kind words! To find out more about HIV testing, click on the link below

From early September to mid November, the company donated 5 signs on two roundabouts near Tesco on the outskirts of Stowmarket, to promote the centre and in particular the Vinyl Lounge. The Christmas Vinyl Lounge, one of the most popular events has broken all records... helped out by the posters we'd like to think and has sold out over 6 weeks ahead of the event. If you'd like to see what these roundabouts can do for your business/charity/event, please do get in touch.
